What are the attunements?
The Attunements are a way of speeding up the opening of the flow of this energy through you. They help to remove blockages that have prevented the energy from flowing as smoothly as it might have. During the attunement process, the Reiki Master draws the symbols over you in different places and uses the process to open the flow of energy through you.
Talking while doing Reiki.
If someone askS you to give them Reiki they have made a conscious decision to heal and they trust you to share that experience with them. You need to show respect for that person and for their healing. Reiki is best done from a meditative state. You are not only using your hands to send them the energy but you are using your mind.
Are my hands supposed to get hot when I do Reiki?
There are many ways to experience the Reiki energy when giving Reiki. Your hands may feel hot, or cold; they may tingle, or you may feel the energy pulsing through your hands and your body as you work.
Do I always have to do all the hand positions?
The hand positions form a foundation for your work. As you give more Reiki you will know intuitively where to place your hands.
How do I know when an area is complete?
If you are in a meditative state when giving Reiki, you will feel intuitively when to change positions. Trust this flow and let it guide you. (When beginning allow approximately 4 minutes for each position)
What do I do if I feel light-headed?
If you feel light-headed or dizzy after or while giving Reiki then you need to ground yourself. This can be done by visualising yourself connecting to the Earth and focussing on the area beneath your feet. After a Reiki session you can ground yourself by drinking water, eating, getting some fresh air, hugging a tree or holding a crystal such as heamatite.
How do distance attunements work?
First of all when giving any attunement I always ask that the person recieve those energies that are in their Highest Good and in accord with their Soul Purpose. If Reiki energy can transcend time and distance for healing purposes then there is no reason why it cannot do the same for the attunement process. The mechanics of the process are not as important as the intent of the receiver and the Master involved.
